Overview
This tutorial guides you through modeling a three-dimensional piled raft foundation in MIDAS GTS NX. You will create a raft supported by nine piles in a Mohr-Coulomb clay deposit and define the raft, piles, pile interfaces, and pile-tip elements. You will configure pile-soil interaction parameters, groundwater level, self-weight, and foundation loading through construction stages. After analysis, you will examine foundation settlement, pile axial-force distribution, shaft friction, and raft bending moments. By completing this quest, you will learn how to: - Create a 3D ground domain, raft, and pile-group geometry - Generate solid, shell, beam, pile-interface, and pile-tip elements - Define nonlinear shaft resistance and pile-tip behavior - Configure rigid connections between the raft and pile heads - Apply groundwater, self-weight, and surface pressure - Simulate foundation installation and loading by construction stage - Review settlement, pile forces, shaft friction, and raft moments
