Overview
This tutorial guides you through performing a pseudo-static seismic slope stability analysis in MIDAS GTS NX. You will create a two-dimensional plane-strain slope model, define Mohr-Coulomb soil material, and generate a higher-order triangular finite-element mesh. You will apply horizontal and vertical seismic coefficients and create separate Strength Reduction Method analysis cases for gravity-only and seismic conditions. The resulting failure surfaces and safety factors are then compared to evaluate the influence of earthquake loading on slope stability. By completing this quest, you will learn how to: - Create and mesh a 2D slope model - Define Mohr-Coulomb soil properties - Configure ground boundaries and self-weight - Apply horizontal and vertical seismic coefficients - Perform SRM analysis under gravity and seismic conditions - Compare failure surfaces and critical safety factors
